Humus Records was born in 2012 in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, around Coilguns, at first almost as an excuse to release our own records when nobody else wanted to do it.Then things got a little out of hand. Friends’ bands started showing up, then more followed. We learned how to press vinyl, print merch, ship parcels, answer emails, produce releases, organize events, deal with unexpected problems and somehow keep going through all of it. We also installed a DIY music studio in our rehearsal room, and we record there many bands that we are working with. 

Today, Humus Records remains a human-scale project carried by artists, friends, ideas and a certain way of doing things: collectively, honestly, and without really knowing where it will all lead us. A fertile ground for everything from the most abrasive projects to the most intimate forms.
