Geneva’s KNUT emerged from the city’s vibrant DIY and squat scene in the late ’90s, developing a singular blend of hardcore, metal, noise and experimental music. After Leftovers (1997) and Bastardiser (1998), the band joined Hydra Head Records and released Challenger in 2002 — a landmark album that established KNUT internationally.

Following the passing of vocalist Didier Séverin in 2022, Challenger was reissued in 2024 by Humus Records as a Deluxe double LP, remastered by Serge Morattel and featuring three additional early tracks. More than two decades later, the album remains a powerful testament to KNUT’s uncompromising sound and to Didier Séverin’s legacy.
